Simply Reliable, Inc. used the recent CEDIA Expo to hold its annual Board of Advisors meeting and lay out strategies for deploying the software for the coming year. The members meet online once per month, but each year the board, which is made up of seasoned industry veterans, meets face to face to discuss the SmartOffice.

Members include John Carlen (Xssentials), Marc Franken (Frankentek), Matt Grossman (Architronics), Greg Margolis (Hometronics), Kim Michels (Electronic Environments NY), Mark Nimrod (Opus) and Marilyn Sanford (LaScala).

“Our mission for SmartOffice has always been to drive best practices through software,” says Jonathan Knapp, CEO of Simply Reliable, Inc. “The process of creating the business process with best practices starts with the roadmap. This unique group of integrators has great experience and insight in the business of running an integration business.”

SmartOffice is designed by custom integrators and beyond just the board, key personnel from each company are included in the development process. This provides insight into operations through subject matter experts such as sales, project management, accounting and more.

Among the strategies determined at the meeting in Denver this year were:

  • The new Field Edition would be launched as a “freemium” for those subscribing to Core Edition or Business Edition.
  • A new product Field Edition Pro would be created which would add payroll and time tracking features, price and availability to be announced.
  • The group developed the CRM strategy that will be implemented.
  • The priorities for the Business Edition’s first release were agreed upon. The Business Edition will include Roles and User Privileges, an Advanced Reporting Engine and QuickBooks Integration with QuickBooks Desktop software, with an expected release date of January 2, 2015.

SmartOffice Online is cloud-based software available in multiple editions including The Sales Edition, The Core Edition, The Business Edition and The Field Edition. The Field Edition is free with a subscription to The Core or 2015 Business Editions.
