Stardraw Engine
Design is an optional addition to SmartOffice that allows you to create symbols and maintain a symbol library. Design is powered by the full version of Stardraw and gives you the ability to create your own library of product symbols.
Design
Design allows you to open CAD drawings directly, modify, save and send back to the architect. Supported extensions include, .dwg and .so1. Generate your own drawings using the automatic symbols created by the program – all symbols store complete product information including SKU, manufacturer, make and dimensions. Photo realistic symbols are created directly from your product library. Approve the image found in the shared Central Library or import your own. Design generates symbols for five drawing environments: block schematic, plan view, rack layout, elevation and pictorial schematics.
Rack Layouts
Create rack layouts (such as the image above) for projects using face view images that are both functional, informational and professional looking. Each image is a symbol created in Design that displays all relevant information when clicked.
Elevations
Elevation drawings are useful to see how different products will fit together in your project environment. The symbols created are sized with the dimensions defined in the product details screen, giving you an accurate representation. Open existing drawings or create your own.
Planview
A planview is a scaled drawing or floor plan made with symbols. With Design you can include product symbols in your planview drawings. Easily create product symbols either individually or for an entire product at once. Instruct Design to create symbols while in SmartOffice, then open Design and your symbols are already generated and stored according to zone, project and drawing type.
Pictorial Schematic
Pictorial schematics are also called single-line drawings. This type of drawing shows flows and connections, without connection level detail. Use the symbols created by Design to quickly and accurately layout products. Easily move items around the page while maintaining the established connections. Drawings are quick to create and easy to manipulate and change. Below on the right are sample symbols for pictorial schematics.
Block Schematic
Delve into more detail with block schematic drawings. Show how inputs and outputs will be connected for products in a project. Use photos in the product symbol to avoid confusion and to give a professional look and feel. Using Design to create symbols for block schematic drawings is both fast and easy. Below on the right is a sample symbol created for a block schematic.
