Design Machine is licensed on a yearly basis. Standard pricing for Design Machine is $499 for a 1 year license. You can purchase a 1 year license for 2 Design Machines by choosing the 2 Product Bundle for $998. The 1 year license for the Big Bundle is regularly $1,497. Currently these are on sale. Hardware and Operating System Prerequisite
Operating System: Windows XP or newer. Apple Hardware and Linux are currently not supported. You can run Design Machine using a third party virtual Windows environment.
Hardware Requirements: Intel-compatible Pentium 4 or higher with a minimum of 800 GHz, At least 1GB of RAM (4GB recommended), Hard disk with at least 1 GB of free space.
Network Requirements: Internet access is required for all system upgrades, maintenance, and to validate your license.
Software Requirements: Design Machine creates a drawing which is viewable in Microsoft Visio. Visio 2007 or Visio 2010 is strongly recommended. If Visio is not present then Design Machine will output the drawing as a vdx file which can be opened with the free Microsoft Visio Viewer. However, this viewer is limited several critical ways such as printing and editing the drawing. We will not officially support the Visio viewer.
Design Machine creates a cable schedule in a spreadsheet. Microsoft Excel 2007 or Excel 2010 is strongly recommended. If office is not installed Design Machine will output the cable schedule as a single csv file which can be opened in other programs. You may use these, but they are not supported.
