The most important thing that you need to know about Simply Reliable Software is Process, we love finding a process that works and then making it better. That is why SmartOffice was designed. There have been many different proposal software systems, and many different design software systems. But no software package helps you manage the project once the proposal is accepted...and that is the most important part.
In Simply Reliable Software's SmartOffice all of your staff have access to a common database (with defined user privileges). This is the best way of implementing a business system and gaining consistency throughout any organization. Simply Reliable believes that if you "make the right way the easiest way" employees will happily follow. Jonathan Knapp, the founder of Simply Reliable, has owned and operated a system integration business for 30 years. He was struggling with process in his business and became frustrated with the lack of a fully integrated option so he designed his own. When he sold his business in 2002 he began to sell the software that he developed to other people in the industry. Jonathan has a unique perspective because he understands the pain of running a small business on a daily basis. That experience has helped him to develop the only fully integrated solution available today.
Along the way Jonathan assembled a team of experts with over 100 years experience in software, in business and in the system integration industry. Let us use this industry experience to help you make your business stronger.
Jonathan Knapp - President, Owner
For almost three decades Jonathan Knapp was the owner of a Palm Beach, Florida, company specializing in the custom design and installation of whole house electronic systems. Jonathan found that his business required software that could integrate both their products database with a proposal tool. The proposal application had to incorporate the generation of custom configurations with professional looking sales proposals. An experienced programmer, he developed this proposal application so that it would generate proposals including standardized pricing and information. Over time, additional software modules for managing purchase orders, change orders, delivery, and installation of these products were developed. This remarkable software supports multiple users in a consistent and professional manner.
As a sales and service business owner, Jonathan learned the value of effective business systems for accomplishing simple day-to-day tasks. Many problems in business are due to a lack of communication and poor implementation of business systems. He observed that for an all-in-one business system to be effective, several things were necessary:
  • It must be available for use by the entire group.
  • It must be easy to learn and user friendly. The user interface is critical.
  • It must integrate those tasks that absorb much of our time.
  • It must reduce or eliminate redundant data entry.
  • It must be stable, reliable and maintain data integrity.
These are the principals that Simply Reliable's SmartOffice was built upon. Jonathan now lives in Brookline, Ma with his long time significant other, Marcie and their 3 yr old Newfoundland, Karli.
Chris Jaffe - Vice President
Chris Jaffe joined Simply Reliable Software in 2006. He has been invaluable in providing leadership in many areas of the company including: development, software functionality, training, marketing and technical troubleshooting. Chris' strong background in business gives him a unique perspective on process management and continues to help shape the company's path.
Chris most recently was the Executive director of a YMCA in Cocoa, Florida and enjoys the challenges of managing projects and people. Before that he worked as an Animal Trainer at Seaworld where he had the opportunity to train Dolphins, Whales, Sea Lions, Otters, Seals and Walruses.
Chris is married and lives in between New York City and Lake Park, Fl with his wife Keri.
Tom Coffin - Director of Sales and Dealer Development
Tom began working with Simply Reliable Software in 2007. His vast experience in diverse segments of the electronic integration business has assisted the Company in fine tuning the software and adding additional tools to make the life of the integrator better. In 2008, Tom re-tooled the Company's training program and has been an invaluable resource for Simply Reliable's subscriber base.
An industry veteran of over 29 years, Tom has owned or managed many different types of companies in the space including; a control system manufacturer, retail, custom installation, production to a complete convergence of electrical/HVAC/and automation. He has personally sold over $50 million dollars of integrated systems to date. An early adopter in the integration business, Tom has been active in PARA and CEDIA since their inception.
